STREAMLINED LIGHTWEIGHT FLEX

The Nike Free SB Nano Men’s Skateboarding Shoe combines the natural flexibility of Nike Free technology with the durable performance of a board shoe for the ultimate in comfort and control.

Classic Comfort

The suede upper has a streamlined look that hearkens to classic skate shoes with a clean, updated silhouette. The suede has strategically placed perforations for breathability.

Board Grip and Balance

The skate-specific outsole has Nike Free flex grooves for a comfortable, natural feel and better board grip and balance. Rubber outsole pods provide extra traction and control.

More Benefits

  • Reflective elements keep you visible in low light
  • Herringbone pattern on the outsole for traction in all directions
  • Phylon foam under the heel for lightweight cushioning
  • Padded tongue for comfort

  • Nike Free Origins

After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university’s golf course, three of Nike’s most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, similar to bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure-measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion. The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot’s natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out.
